Geotechnical Engineer

## About the Role SGH is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join its Waltham, MA office. This role involves geotechnical investigation, analysis, and design for a variety of building, infrastructure, and environmental projects. ## Responsibilities - Plan and execute geotechnical site investigations and laboratory testing programs - Perform geotechnical analysis including slope stability, settlement, and bearing capacity - Prepare geotechnical reports and recommendations for design teams - Support construction monitoring and field observation activities - Collaborate with structural engineers and other project team members ## Qualifications **Required:** - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering - 3–7 years of geotechnical engineering experience - Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software (PLAXIS, GeoStudio, or equivalent) - Strong written and verbal communication skills **Preferred:** - PE license - Experience with deep foundations, excavation support, and urban geotechnical challenges - Familiarity with New England subsurface conditions ## About SGH SGH is a nationally recognized engineering consulting firm with deep expertise in structural, geotechnical, building technology, and forensic engineering.
