Intermediate Structural Engineer

## About the Role SOM is seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join its San Francisco office. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to some of the world's most ambitious building projects as part of SOM's integrated practice. ## Responsibilities - Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of building typologies - Develop construction documents and specifications - Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and other design disciplines - Support construction administration activities - Participate in design reviews and technical presentations ## Qualifications **Required:** - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering - 4–8 years of structural engineering experience - Proficiency in ETABS, SAP2000, RAM, or equivalent software - Experience with steel, concrete, and timber systems **Preferred:** - PE license or active pursuit - Experience with high-rise or seismic design in California - LEED accreditation ## About SOM SOM's engineering practice is deeply integrated with architecture and urban design, enabling holistic solutions to complex structural challenges on landmark projects worldwide.
